RENK Test System GmbH plans to introduce the EPLAN Preplanning software to create a layout-based pre-planning environment for test bench design, used throughout the entire product lifecycle and linking functional schematics with fluid and electrical circuit diagrams. The thesis author investigates the current cross-departmental design process (mechanics, electronics, software, drive technology) for optimization potential, validates the feasibility of the new environment using several examples, and creates usage guidelines.
